If you live in the Seattle area and been to Snohomish County, you have probably heard about the Oxford Saloon. The Oxford Saloon was a popular bar and grill along First Street in Snohomish, Washington and is also a hot spot for paranormal researchers as it is rumored to have several ghosts there as well. The Oxford Saloon has also been well known for its bands that come through there, halloween activities, and even hosted the Muscular Dystrophy Association lock up event back in 2011. Anyways, I thought that I would share with you that I found out that place went out of business. The bar has been around for many years, and I never expected it to go out of business. I first learned about the closure in September when my brother Brett and his girlfriend went by there to hang out and I did not believe them at first, but then I went for a walk along First Street this last week and when I went by there, the place was completely closed and had what looked like cardboard paper all around it with a sign saying that the place is closed. By the way, I don't know the full story behind the closure and don't know what the owners' take on this, and I am amazed that nobody else has posted anything about the Oxford Saloon seeming to go out of business. Now, with this said, it will be interesting to see what goes in where the resturant used to stood. Here are some possiblities I can think of (not that these will be the case, but are from my speculation):
1) Mexican Restaurant (there is also Todos and Ixtapa near by, but that can always be a possiblity).
2) Franchise resturant. I could almost see a McMenamins, Blazin Onions, or a Wingdome (or a similar franchise) restaurant going in where the Oxford Saloon used to be.
3) Tavern. Maybe another bar could be installed there.
4) Hotel? Seems like they could convert the place into a hotel as well (especially in the upstairs).
5) Business offices.
One thing is for sure: the Oxford Saloon seems to have gone out of business. Why it went out of business and what will become of the old saloon reemains to be seen. I will try to keep you posted on any updates I hear about it. Note: I am not an employee nor am I affiliated with the Oxford Saloon in anyways. I haven't seen anything on the Saloon's closure and so I thoutht I would share it.
